At http://accaliaaccounting.ca I have set the background image as top_bg.jpg and it is fine on the desktp view however, I can see the image on the mobile version but it is not set to repeat as it is on the desktop.

As I do not see a mobile_version.css file, where do I need to go to have it repeat on the mobile version? I basically want to get rid of the purple colour background.

OK, I solved this by changing the background colour to FFFFFF and removing the background image in Template Manager > Vertex. A very simple solution... however, I do have remaining questions.

There is a mobile version of the template because when I look at the site on my Android phone (Galaxy S2) I see a mobile version including mobile main menu and a Show Desktop version link at the bottom of the page however, when I open it on my iPad, I see the desktop version with no option or hint of the mobile version.

Where does it decide or where is it determined which version is displayed on which device?

This is controlled via the s5_responsive.css file which trigger the resolution when the mobile menu is used.
