Shape 5

Hello,

I have read that it is very easy to change the standard S5 favicon to a personalized, but I do not understand how (and where). I admit being very new to Joomla and web site creation, but where should I go to insert my new favicon in the root of the template (Design Control)? I have seen several tutorials on the subject, but they all assume I know how to go to "the root" ..

And a little additional question: at the end of every page it is automatically written "copyright 2014, company name, designed by shape5.com Joomla templates" and under that the Shape 5-logo. Is it mandatory to keep it, or can I - for example if a pay a membership - remove it? And if so how?

Would a membership also give me further documentation about how to get the most of the template (that I by the way like very much)?

1) To change the favion you need to FTP on to your site where all the files are and swap out the favicon.ico image on the server with your own ico image.

2) The copyright can be removed on the server as well. It is called footer.php and it is in the /vertex folder

3) A membership would be a great option for anyone starting out with Joomla as you can ask as many questions as you need and it will save you a lot of time. You will also get access to the club boards where you will see hundreds of other users questions and most likely they have been answered before.

Conc 1) I'm lost! Could you please tell me where "all the files are"? I have not found any ico-file on the server. Should I still look under templates/Vertex? I have already generated a new ico-file and uploaded to media manager, but that is probably not the right place? Please help me ..

Conc 2) I'm proud of myself, I actually managed to remove the copyright-thing, but not the Shape5-logo. Is that supposed to stay there?!

Conc 3) I will do that asap (that is as soon as I have the company tax-number) in order to get all the help needed and to reward you for a very nice looking template.

1. The default favicon.ico is in the root of template/design_control you simply over-write that one with your own. Favicons are difficult to work with, you often have to clear your browser cache and restart the browser to see them update.

2. The logo is not part of the same file. You would need to remove that in the template's index.php file.

3. We'd be happy to have you on board! If you are asking for our tax number, I don't know what you are looking for exactly, we are US based company and we don't have a VAT ID or anything like that. All address information and product information is given to you on an invoice after signup.
