: section/category formatting : cjdietz January 07, 2009, 09:11:50 AM probably a stupid newbie question, but...
1) I've checked "hide" on category/section titles in the article manager... so why are they still showing up on the webpage? (http://67.15.245.5/~jigsawcr/) 2) Since they are showing... I've looked in the CSS trying to figure out how to edit it to increase font size/weight (it looks funny to have a tiny little line above a larger article title). Haven't figured out for sure what section applies... none of the h1... h5 seem to be the correct one -- it looks like it's currently the same as the body text (12pt) and all of them are larger than that already... so where do I edit this? thanks! :) : Re: section/category formatting : cjdietz January 07, 2009, 11:54:20 AM okay... i figured out #1: I was using category blog on the menu and needed to go to the menu item and check off "no" on "show page title" under the system parameters.
#2) -- still confused and have added a similar question -- changing the font-size for h2 in the css doesn't appear to have any effect. I wanted to make that larger, but don't seem to be able to? or am i editing the wrong header -- from what i could read of the css it looks like the header with the titlebar icon would be h2.... ??? what's really weird is i have the same css on my localhost as the online version and yet the localhost has a much larger font for the same headings on the page...??? why??? and why can't I seem to adjust it??? sorry for the newbie questions... :-[ : Re: section/category formatting : mikek January 07, 2009, 12:24:31 PM Hello, there are many h2 settings in the css depending on where the h2 appears. If you're adjusting the content titles you need to look for contentheading in the template_css.css file and adjust the font size.
: Re: section/category formatting : cjdietz January 07, 2009, 12:36:44 PM Thanks! that worked! :)
now... ;) I wanted to adjust the padding as well to bring the text down on the page a little (was looking too scrunched). but the graphic didn't move down??? code: table.blog .contentheading, h2 { padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 5px; background:url(../images/titlebar.gif) no-repeat; font-size:1.6em; font-weight:bold; line-height:normal; padding-left: 25px; : Re: section/category formatting : mikek January 07, 2009, 12:47:24 PM You can try:
margin-bottom:5px; : Re: section/category formatting : cjdietz January 07, 2009, 01:54:55 PM okay... figured out moving the image (added 0px 20px to the right of the url reference)
but I have not been able to figure out how to change the regular article font size... i've tried both in the body section and in the s5_main section. i can change it to 14, 18 20px, it doesn't matter -- it still displays the same. i even tried 1.4 1.6em etc. so i figure i've got to be looking at the wrong spot, but for the life of me I can't figure out where the right spot would be? : Re: section/category formatting : mikek January 07, 2009, 02:11:18 PM Hi, it's on line 248 in template_css.css under
td, div { : Re: section/category formatting : cjdietz January 07, 2009, 04:35:22 PM thanks! :)
It had a slightly unintended effect, though... increasing the font-size in the article increased the font-size of the text on the top menu tabs and right-hand menu as well. Didn't really want it on the menus (made my top tabs too long for one thing! So I guess I'm stuck with the smaller font. Other than that, the site is starting to look pretty good! I really like the template for this site.... http://67.15.245.5/~jigsawcr/ |
