: Main Menu has suddenly disappeared
: KHL_Zagreb May 01, 2014, 06:36:16 AM
Hi,

On my web site http://khlzagreb.host25.com  Main Menu suddenly has disappeared.

Until two days ago it was working normally.

While researching what may be the problem I have found that:
-   Main menu module is set to ?Published? as it is supposed to be
-   In Template manager / Vertex / Menu under ?MAIN MENU? line I can?t set Main Menu as the Default menu (please check the screenshot).

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you in advance,
Sergej

Hello,

Can you try reinstalling a fresh copy of the Template and then changing Bottom Menu to Main Menu (or the menu that is featured as your Launch Page)

Hi,

If I do so what will happen with all of my content? Will it be erased?

Btw - this problem has occurred after the latest  Joomla update.

Hello,

None of the content will be removed if you reinstall the content. The only thing you will need to reapply is your Template Manager changes and settings. All the content such as articles and modules are stored within Joomla not the Template.

Hi Mike,

Thank you. In a meanwhile I have figured it out.  :)
I have solved my problem by retrieving server backup version of my site made a few days before.

Regarding articles that are stored inside of Joomla, is there any simple way to get hyperlink address for particular article so that I could embed it in to "Read more" hyperlink?

I.e. on the home page side there is Accordion module whit 3 dummy articles. Inside of each there is "Read more" link that points to certain categorized article (one per each accordion position).

I would like to change those links and point them to some other articles.

One way of doing it is to manually enter the link in the following form:
->  index.php/component/content/article/ category # - alias for category name  / article # - alias article name
(i.e. "index.php/component/content/article/2-uncategorised/276-sample-content")

I'm wandering is there some smarter way to do so?

Hello,

The easiest way would be to organize all your articles into their respective categories and then create a temporary menu item pointing to a category list. This would list all your articles on the menu item in that particular category and you can click them to be redirected to the page where you can copy the URL from.

Another more direct way you could do it would be by article ID# using the following link

index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=XX

Hello,

Try reinstalling the latest version of the Template and reassigning your default menu in the Template Manager > Menu.
