: How to improve pageload/performance
: mikefitz May 11, 2014, 03:49:14 PM
I am using Traction with Joomla 2.5.19. I ran tests using Google pageSpeed insights and the results read:
Your page has 32 blocking script resources and 43 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.

I tried a new install on Joomla 3.2 for comparison and the results were similar. I doubt these are all Traction resources, but it looks like most of them are.

Can you suggest ways to improve the template performance? Is there a way to determine what scripts are not being used (for example disabled modules) that can be somehow disabled? Can the JS be loaded asynchronously?

I have optimized images as much as possible without degrading quality.

Thanks

Hello,

I posted a similar response to this question here:

One thing to add is you can disable any scripts you aren't using in the Template Manager under Javascripts and this will improve performance as less resources need to be called on page loads.
