: Site Offline (Yes) Not Working
: UBC101 July 07, 2014, 10:17:29 AM
I have 2 problems...

The first problem that I have is that I cannot take my website off line... No matter how many times I click YES... and then SAVE the changes.

My other problem is that my re-directs don't seem to work.

The Read More function goes to an error page... and the links in Latest News and Popular Articles to to and Error 404 Page... looks like article 67.

Please help.

Allen

Hello,

Please note that the template doesn't control these functions, only Joomla does. Have you enabled SEF settings under the global configuration? If so, please try turning them off, that is the most common reason for 404 errors on a read more. If you're site is not showing offline, are you sure you're logged out on the frontend? if you're logged in, the site will show like normal.

Hi Mike

Thank you for responding.

As far as the the Site Offline problem is concerned... I have tried several times to make sure that the backend is set to Site Offline, and that I am not logged in on the frontend or on the backend.

I tuened the search engine friend to NO right away... O I don't know what's going on there.

The web address in http://www.quovadimus-today.com

If you need to get into the backend... let me know, and I will get the credentials to you.

I really appreciate your help.

Allen

Hello,

I just downloaded our latest Site Shaper for Corpway and tested turning the site offline in System > Global Configuration > Site Offline and it worked properly. If this isn't working for you here are a few things to check:

1) Your changes are being saved in the back end when you hit submit.

2) You aren't logged into the front end or back end when trying to view the site. This will make it appear as if its online. Make sure you clear your cookies/cache after doing this. Also note that some hosts have server side caching that might need to be cleared before your changes will take effect.

3) If you have installed any 3rd party extensions one of them might be causing the issue

If none of those work I would check on joomla.org to see if they have any further ideas about this as the Template doesn't control this functionality.
