: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : edit July 14, 2014, 09:59:57 AM Good Morning.
I am trying to use the site shaper for the Lime Light template. I am not able to use it in my actual website. It is in a subfolder. Also, why can't I use it with my inmotion hosting account? It says I am not able to install the file because something is missing. : Re: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : edit July 14, 2014, 11:17:17 AM I am sorry that I started a new post. I only did that because I did not know if the thread from March 2014 was still being monitored. As I stated in the email to you, Mike, I am very new to your website. I only picked this website over RocketTheme because I read how customer service oriented you are. We'll see about that. So far, not good.
Per your request, I don't know what else you want me to post. I think that I was pretty clear in my description and you have not even attempted to answer my initial question. : Re: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : edit July 14, 2014, 11:46:28 AM I can't even change the options to unpublish the category, date creation, hits and publish date on an article. I have attached a screenshot for you.
: Re: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : mikenicoll July 14, 2014, 10:14:24 PM Hello,
1) I checked my email account and I do not see anything in my inbox from your user name. Did you send an email to another Administration on the site? Also if you don't receive a response within 24 hours (M-F) you can just shoot me a PM by clicking the chat icon below my name. 2) I need some more details about the issue you are having with the Site Shaper. I am not sure how inMotion hosting would be any different from any other provider but I have never had any issues nor have our customers with many hosting providers. The most common issue I see is that users are using an incorrect installation process when trying to install a Site Shaper. We have videos for installing both Site Shapers and Templates by themselves. Please reference these below: Site Shaper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L26TnhFb4Ag Template Standalone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeLEjSD-i1E Site Shapers cannot be installed to pre existing installations of Joomla. A lot of people accidently try and import these through the Extension Manager which will not work. If you still have issues with the installation after watching the videos I would need some more information about what steps you are having issues on or the errors you are receiving. In regards to your screenshot are the changes not saving or are the icons not clickable? Have you tried a different browser? Also be sure to include a URL to your sites when applicable -Mike : Re: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : edit July 15, 2014, 08:49:16 AM Thank You for the reponse. I followed the tutorial Sunday morning and the video was great. Kudos to you because I think you are the one that did it.
I created the database and everything on that end is fine. From your response, I now understand that the site shaper cannot be used on pre existing installations of Joomla. I also realized yesterday that the new Joomla installation with site shaper is using 3.0. I have been using 2.5. I thought that the site shaper could be used on both but I guess that was my mistake. The question I have regarding the subfolders is that the siteshaper is loading to the web address: www.mydomainname.com/limelight. Is there any way to make it: www.mydomainname.com? : Re: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : mikenicoll July 15, 2014, 05:40:01 PM Hello,
If you are installing the Site Shaper files to a sub directory on your server then it will always load with the site URL + the folder name. If you want it to load on your main site URL without the added folder name you would just want to install the Site Shaper to the "root" directory of your site without creating the extra folder. You can also (if your host supports it) use an HTTP redirect to redirect all pages assigned to your sub URL to your main URL but I think just uploading the files to your root would probably be more efficient. -Mike : Re: Site Shaper (InMotion Hosting - Joomla) : edit July 16, 2014, 10:52:45 AM Thank You. ;)
