: Fixed / Floating Header
: wayneallen October 10, 2014, 02:51:29 AM
I am using the Wordpress Velocity theme and having an issue with the header. When I originally installed the theme the header area was staying fixed when the page was scrolled. I noticed it stop working shortly after I installed and restarted, but now it is not working again, and too late to restart, but I don't know what caused it to break. In the theme options "Theme Specific" area "Floating Header" is selected to Yes which I assume is what controls this, but the header does not in fact "float"?

Any help?

I believe what you want is the "Fixed" header, that is locked to the top of the window, rather than the "Floating" header that scrolls with the page, you can always try copying in the wp-content/uploads/cache/velocity.json file from the Shaper.  That file will restore the theme settings to what the demo uesd, but without losing your existing content.

Yes, well, I want the header to stay fixed to the top of the page when it is scrolled. So I am not really sure what the difference is.  I appreciate that suggestion, but I have already made many changes to the settings and do no want to revert at this point.

This fixed itself when I toggled off and on the floating header settings. Tried that once but it didn't work the first time, but it it is working well now.

Thanks.
