: Contact Form 7

I am using the Velocity theme with the Vertex framework and am having an issue with the very popular Contact Form 7. I want to use this plugin because it seamlessly integrates with another plugin Contact Form DB, which stores submissions in the database including uploaded images etc.

The problem is that every time I try to submit the form it gives me an error "Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method." surrounded by the orange border.  This message with orange border apparently indicates that the message is being detected as spam. According to my research, a caching plugin can sometimes trigger a false positive for spam detection. That being said, I tested the contact form without the theme, and after installing the theme and using the Data Injector Plugin, the Contact Form stopped working so I know that it is the theme that caused it. Even after disabling all plugins except contact form or switching back to another theme, it still doesn't work. Furher,  deleted the complete wp-content/cache folder and still doesn't work.

I know there are some caching options in the theme options dashboard, but those are already turned off. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

I have had the same issue on multiple sites, a few of which were not running Shape 5 themes.  Unfortunately, I was on a deadline with those sites and didn't have enough time to figure out the problem before I had to just move on to another solution.  I believe I ended up using embedded Google forms.

The Shaper/Injector wipes the WP database and replaces it with a copy of the database from the demo; it's very possible that because you already had the contact form plugin installed before running before the injector, something could have changed in the database that conflicts with something already done by the plugin.

You may be able to solve the problem by using a database cleanup/repair plugin like WP-Cleanup; I just can't make any guarantees that it will work.

Let me know your results, and maybe we can work together on coming to a solution.

Thanks for the response. I tried to use WP-Cleanup and WP Cleanup plugins but no luck. Don't know what to do...

I went ahead and switched to Fast Secure Contact Form, which works well and has some pretty cool features and it also integrates with Contact Form DB, so problem solved.
