: Oasis and Kunena Avatar

Hello,  I have a travel related project and I am eyeing on Oasis as the best template for the website.  However, I have read from Kunena forum that shape5 templates are having issues with uploading of Kunena Avatar.  Having "invalid field" error when uploading avatar.

Kunena Thread:   http://www.kunena.org/forum/k-3-0-general-questions/131321-invalid-field-name?start=10#157975

I just would like to ask if this is the case with Oasis template or there's a  fix  before I buy or subscribe to the club membership.

Thank you very much!

Hello,

I really don't know why they would ever post something like that in their forum boards. A template has no way to effect the uploading of an icon in a third party extension. A template only provides front end styling to the site, and nothing more. It has not way to effect functionality of a component, such as uploading. Furthermore, an error like "Invalid Field Name" would never relate to a template, that's a call back to either Joomla or Kunena, our templates don't generate any error messages at all. Perhaps there is a third party extension being used on some of these sites, but it's certainly not a message coming from the template.

You can read further down on that thread and see that it's an issue with their extension:

"Hi - I had the same issue - Invalid field: when adding editing profile to add avatar as registered user

Solution - When I add something to the Signature Field I was then able to upload an avatar.

So I would suggest this is a bug. "

So it's an issue with their extension, that they need to fix.

We have lots of members that use Kunena with no issues at all. We've never had a member report any kind of problem like this to us. If there's ever an issue we always work to resolution, but as stated we have no reports of this from any other members.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I tested design control and kunena and I found out that there's  a conflict between S5 register module and kunena . When you disable S5 register module, kunena works. Avatar uploaded without a problem. Well, I dont know if this is a problem with Kunena or S5 Register  but it works when you disable the module.

Thanks again for your reply.

Hello,

Nothing in S5 Register would cause a conflict with Kunena. I tested the module on my installation with Kunena and it was working properly so you most likely have another conflict of some sort that would be caused by the extension.
