: Title TABS for Horizontal accordion (V2) not showing
: siona73 November 25, 2014, 04:37:47 PM
Hello,

I start to get the feeling that I am talking to myself. Your support forum is pretty useless, with huge response time and not to mention that you do not even care to click on a link to view a website before replying with vague nonsense. I get it. You are busy supporting bunch of templates. You cannot take more than 2 minutes for each ticket? Then I suggest you stop offering 'support' to paying customers because is really not support, when I have to debug and hunt down all the CSS flaws and etc. Either that, or hire  more competent staff personnel.

1) I cannot make the horizontal accordion (V2) (which I had to zip from your newest template because you do NOT offer it as an extension on your website - the one you have in the downloads is version 1) show the TITLES of the tabs.

2) The "on click" feature does not function, the slides slide on hover / mouseover.

Please include a DETAILED explanation on what settings parameters need to be modified and what CSS files and lines need to be modified so that it displays comparatively to your DEMO.

Yes, I am very upset because I wasted two days on installing and integrating a simple extension. That,  because your staff did not even bother to take a look at the links I have included in my message , if they did, they would have seen that there was AN OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE between accordion v1 and v2. They do not visually, even remotely, look the same! Why would you give me indications about an obsolete, different version of an extension that you don't even care to make accessible to those that want to download it?

You do not provide a tutorial for the siteshaper, you do not provide tutorials that make sense that are not just out of context generalities, for your extensions, and nothing works as it should UNLESS you customize a bunch of CSS, because of course, the backend customization options you are including, are generally, lame and basic.

No option to chage H1 headings? Page title? Fav icon? Social Icons ? Modules not taking on the 'styling' settings?

I've been doing web development and web design for over 10 years now. If I were to provide my clients with the same unprofessional level of support, I would be out of business now.

Thank you for your super valuable time of under 2 minutes, and again, I will wait another day and yet another day, and yet another day until probably I will figure things myself and I won't need your support. Mind you, my ratings on shape5 are if possible of minus 5 stars. But I am sure you do not care for that, if you did, it would reflect here in the forum.

Hello,

I have modified your post to be more suitable for a public board as well as formatted the spacing so I can input my responses.

Support is not "instant" nor do we advertise it as such. We try to get to all posts within 24 hours of creation and I checked your previous posts on the boards, all of which have been answered in a timely fashion. We also did not ask you to debug your own questions. This is something you did on your own accord and we would have been more than happy to assist you if you were unable to make the said changes.

1) I cannot make the horizontal accordion (V2) (which I had to zip from your newest template because you do NOT offer it as an extension on your website - the one you have in the downloads is version 1) show the TITLES of the tabs.

The reason I mentioned Zoka Transports as a reference in your last thread was because this Template does not display the Horizontal Accordion V2. If it did you would see it in the Extensions drop down menu on our demo site here:

http://www.shape5.com/demo/corpway/

I assumed from your initial post that you were trying to integrate the Horizontal Accordion V2 extension on top of the demo extensions but after review it appears you may have meant the slider at the top of the site which is a different extension. That slider is called the S5 Image and Content Fader V3 and is available in the Free Downloads section of our site here:

http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,96/task,cat_view/gid,15/

2) The "on click" feature does not function, the slides slide on hover / mouseover.

In the Image and Content Fader v3 there is an option called Enable or Disable Navigation Arrows. If this is set to Enabled clicking the arrows will toggle the slide transitions. Otherwise the slide transitions will be automatic and based on the Slide Delay Time input in the Module Settings in milliseconds.

We did check your links but you were referencing another module that wasn't part of this Template layout as stated. The difference between V1 and V2 for the Horizontal Accordion are that V2 uses CSS3 where V1 uses Javascript. We have used the V2 version in our latest Template "Zoka Transports" which I screen captured the settings from in your last thread since I assumed that is what you were trying to integrate into Corpway.

You do not provide a tutorial for the siteshaper, you do not provide tutorials that make sense that are not just out of context generalities, for your extensions, and nothing works as it should UNLESS you customize a bunch of CSS, because of course, the backend customization options you are including, are generally, lame and basic.

Not sure what you mean about not providing Tutorials. We have an entire documentation section on the site and most of the Tutorials are also integrated into the demo sites themselves for easy access.

Site Shaper Tutorial:

Extensions:

All of the Extensions listed are also accompanied by setup instructions if you click the links on the demo site.

No option to change H1 headings? Page title? Fav icon? Social Icons ? Modules not taking on the 'styling' settings?

a) H1 headings are generally changed via CSS. You can use a tool such as Firebug to hover over the H1 element you want to change and see its inherit styling which will generally be located in the Template.CSS file

b) Page Title is a default feature of Joomla and can be changed under the Page Display Tab of the Menu Item you are trying to change

c) Favicon can be changed by swapping out the favicon.ico file on the server.

d) Social Icons can be changed by modifying the images themselves on the server as needed. The links for social icons can be input via the Template Manager and if you leave the input fields blank they wont appear on the front end.

e) Module styling is either defaulted or if you are using a module class suffix from this page it will use those styling overrides.

I've been doing web development and web design for over 10 years now. If I were to provide my clients with the same unprofessional level of support, I would be out of business now.

We have been providing Templates for Joomla and Wordpress since 2005 and have an extremely positive track record. I am sorry you are unhappy with the level of support as we strive to keep everyone using our products happy. I feel there was just a miscommunication in the module you were looking for based on your initial topic title so everything most likely got lost in translation.

All of our responses generally take much longer than 2 minutes as we have to read the content of the post, check URLS and images and then look into the issue itself. Following that we reply with a resolution or a request for more information. I have also not seen a post from you that required waiting "days" for a response as suggested. If you read through the forums you will see nearly all of our customers are satisfied with the service and resolutions offered.

If you have any further questions or would like to clarify anything let me know and I will respond to your thread within 24 hours M-F.

Kind Regards,

1) I cannot make the horizontal accordion (V2) (which I had to zip from your newest template because you do NOT offer it as an extension on your website - the one you have in the downloads is version 1) show the TITLES of the tabs.

The reason I mentioned Zoka Transports as a reference in your last thread was because this Template does not display the Horizontal Accordion V2. If it did you would see it in the Extensions drop down menu on our demo site here:

http://www.shape5.com/demo/corpway/

Indeed, the horizontal accordion v1 (the one you offer for download in your club extensions download section) is NOT part of the corpway. I figured that
1) Your extensions ARE COMPATIBLE with your TEMPLATES and that perhaps it just require some additional tweaking.
2) If my question related obviously to the horizontal accordion v1, then v2, was not suited for THIS FORUM then you should have moved it to the appropriate forum,
Shape5>Joomla Extensions>Paid/club>Horizontal Accordion V2.

I posted a new topic there with the same question. TITLE TABS are not showing (out of the box configuration)

I did try to integrate the Horizontal Accordion V2 version since I thought you knew I was talking about integrating the Horizontal Accordion V1 then V2 with the corpway template. The TITLE OF MY INITIAL POSTING ( HOW DO I INTEGRATE HORIZONTAL ACCORDION EXTENSION WITH THIS TEMPLATE> reffered under corpway forum section indicates I meant the corpway template and horizontal accordion as extensions, the two of those together.
 1) As proof, you sent me a reply including screenshots from the Horizontal Accordion V2 instead of seeing I was using the V1 (the non responsive version)

If you look back at your own replies, you will see that you did not click on my links and checked the page and then, you sent me a screencap of the V2 version, (which confused me because it does not have same backend parameters as the V2 version). Then I looked for V2 on your club downloads and only found a link to V1 horizontal accordion, so I had to download the siteshaper for Zoka Transport and copy the module V2 horizontal accordion from there.

2) The "on click" feature does not function, the slides slide on hover / mouseover.

It does not work but with mouseover/hover. Still, does not work. Also, the text of the modules (slides) display stretched once you hover over the slide.

Site Shaper Tutorial:

http://www.shape5.com/documentation/Getting-Started/How-to-Install-a-Joomla-Site-Shaper

Extensions:

All of the Extensions listed are also accompanied by setup instructions if you click the links on the demo site.

This is the 'tutorial' you provide for the Horizontal Accordion Extension. Version one (non responsive)
http://www.shape5.com/product_details/club_extensions/s5_horizontal_accordion.html

Where on that page can one find information about how to set up this specific extension REGARDLESS OF ANY SPECIFIC TEMPLATE?

Yes I see the demo, but then it sends me to http://www.shape5.com/demo/index.php?http://www.shape5.com/demo/aurora_dawn/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=184&Itemid=220

AURORA DAWN which OBVIOUSLY REFERS TO VERSION ONE, NON RESPONSIVE TEMPLATE.

WHere in the downloads is the ' Horizontal Accordion V2 and referral to any tutorial to that, and to the 'demo' which you referred to in your references? The Zoka transports template?

So. On your website, you have Accordion V1 (Aurora Dawn)  - in the downloads section, but then in your help you send me screenshots of V2 (from Zoka)  and you insist my Aurora Dawn version (V1) is responsive and works with 100% widths.

Secondly, in your download section, logically you should have BOTH FILES BOTH VERSIONS available for download.
If I cannot find the V2 version, maybe is because I am super dumb, my bad and my apologies, if that is the case, but I couldn't find it quickly and efficiently and without other extra steps as I explained above.
I presume your goal is to make your extensions available to the public with tutorials that detail the usage of BOTH VERSIONS regardless of incorporating them in specific templates.
Proper instructions would mention important things like - V1. Javascript based, non responsive. -V2. CSS3, Responsive. On this page. http://www.shape5.com/product_details/club_extensions/s5_horizontal_accordion.html

It does not make sense that you assume your clients would go and dig through different templates to find instructions to how to install the newest version of an extension. The tutorials should be in the template demo under the extension AND in the downloads section.

Following the tutorial for the V2, for example, does not make the extension work ( as in my case, the title of the tabs are not displaying).
If the titles of the tabs are not supposed to display, then why even bother including those in the backend as an option?
You know, where it says ' Title for Slide 1', 'Title for Slide 2' etc?

The links for social icons can be input via the Template Manager and if you leave the input fields blank they wont appear on the front end.

http://www.shape5.com/demo/corpway/templates/corpway/images/s5_facebook.png

e) Module styling is either defaulted or if you are using a module class suffix from this page it will use those styling overrides.

http://www.shape5.com/demo/corpway/index.php/features-mainmenu-47/template-features/100-module-positions

rocketthemes and joomlashack both offer those little features integrated as part of their templates options. Just saying.

My initial posting, if you look under the corpway forum section, reads as , in the title - How do I incorporate the horizontal accordion extension with this template.
If you read, there would be no confusion. Also, you sent me instruction as to the horizontal accordion, albeit a different version, which indicates you knew what I was talking about.
I agree, my long rant at the end (this one) is not properly formatted and denotes utmost frustration, and is not proper business etiquette but I was at my wits ends trying to follow your very vague responses. I apologize for that.
When I said, it requires days, here we are , 4 days after my initial post with the question, and still, there is no real answer given to me that I can follow and resolve my issue.  The title tabs on the horizontal accordion V2 are not showing, the click function does not work although is selected and the text in the modules that are the slides, is stretching with the div as you hover/mouseover the slides, it does not stay fix in the slide as in the Transport theme demo.
I do not think is an issue because I am using this extension with the corpway theme, it should, again, logically, be working fine no matter what template one is trying to install it into.
I also read some of your answers to others customers under corpway, and that is just one template, and they are pretty vague and not specific to their questions. I know there is a difference between hiring a coder and getting support that way, and general support when you buy an out of the box, un-customized template. But you know your CSS and you know where H1, logo, etc and such are placed and since you DO NOT OFFER THOSE alterations in the backend as an option, you could take the time and use firebug yourselves (which, is really, not worth your time as a business in the end, you'd better be off offering a way for the customers to alter those conditionals in an easy way so they would not bother you with those type of tickets).
For example, how do I change the 'designed by shape5' code at the end? Do I have to use notepad++ and hunt down any terms reffering to shape5? Isn't that a bit silly?
You can take my suggestions and critique as offenses to your business code or you can choose to improve on your business and offer better solutions that would expediate your troubleshooting system.
Tutorials for each siteshaper theme should be included in the zip file. Tutorials should be in the downloads section or come with the files, if every other competitor of yours is doing so, is not because they are dumb, is because is better.
If you are afraid about people ripping off your templates illegally, then make the tutorials available once one signs up to be a member.
That's my two cents.
I moved this topic to the horizontal accordion V2 where it should have maybe, be, because regardless of my choice of template, I should be able to get some support to make it work properly.
Thanks!

Alright,

Thanks for moving your topic and let me know if you have any further questions.
