: Website Registration, getting automated signups.
: IvesFilm December 22, 2014, 08:54:57 AM
Getting a lot of bots signing up on the website. I am guessing someone bothered to make a bot that can read the captcha image. Either that or they guess the code with knowledge ahead of time of what the possible values are. I mean its a 1 in 5 chance at that point or something?

Let me know what I can do.

Hello,

I know how annoying that is.  What module are you using that they are getting past, is it the S5 Register?

Hello,

Make sure you are running the latest version of S5 Register and have captcha enabled. The captcha works pretty well at preventing this. It can also be coming from the default registration page of Joomla, you can enable captcha for that as well.

Alright lets see if that fixes it.

It probably will.

Yeah that did it.

For anyone else having a similar problem, it takes about 5 days for the mail delivery failure notices to wind down. Its normal.
