: Main Menu Limits? : covenantts December 31, 2014, 07:43:20 PM Is there a limit to how many items on a Main Menu. I'm using the Prestige Academy template and had built my Main Menu the way I needed it. I looked at it today and two entire sections had disappeared from the menu. I went to Appearance, Menus and added the pages to the menus. When I clicked "Save Menu" they did not save to the menu. Please advise. My WP setup is the same today as it was two days ago when it was working fine.
It also is now losing the location setting of the menu. I have to go and advise it of the location every time I go in to WP Dashboard. : Re: Main Menu Limits? : Tristan Rineer January 02, 2015, 08:43:38 AM I've also had that problem when creating some of the demo content. It is not a problem with the theme or framework; it's a combination of an issue with how WP manages its menu system, and a limitation created by your server settings.
This WP support thread (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/menu-size-limit) explains some of the possible causes. This plugin (https://github.com/sevenspark/menu-limit-detector) can tell you exactly what you need to do to fix the issue, and warn you when you're close to reaching the limit. I had to contact my server provider to have them make the change to the PHP settings on my dev server, so you may also have to do the same, but hopefully that plugin will be able to tell you a way to do it on your own.
