I am setting up the wordpress them emusica and i am unable to create an external or internal link that opens up a new tab without the original tab also opening up to that same location. I checked the button :open link in a new window/tab" and saved menu. My website is http://baysidewoodland.com/baysidewoodland2 . The menu item that is supposed to create a new tab and open up in a new window is "bayside online giving"

That issue has been fixed in the latest Vertex Upgrade Patch (http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,96/task,cat_view/gid,308).

I checked and found that the vertex version is 3.4.0 but I went ahead and downloaded and updated the patch anyway just to make sure that it was not corrupt. After completing the update I tested it and the Theme still will not open a new windows without also opening the original page to that same new window. I get both original and new window opening to the new location. I tested the same theme on another domain just to verify the issue and got the same result. Is there something else that I am missing?

If you can PM me FTP and WP-admin access information, I'll take a look at the code and see if I can figure out what's causing the problem.
