: Timeout on template upload/install : ksaltman February 24, 2015, 03:53:26 PM I am trying to install the Incline template onto my Joomla website. When I use the Extension Manager Upload/Install function after selecting the file there is a delay of a few minutes while presumably the file is being uploaded but then the screen just goes blank.
Assuming that it is because of a timeout and my slow internet connection I went ahead and uploaded the SiteShaper_Shape5_Incline_current.zip file into the tmp directory, extracted the files and then tried to use the install from directory feature. Doing that I get an error "JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file". What do I need to do to install the template onto my existing Joomla site with out using the upload & install function? : Re: Timeout on template upload/install : mikenicoll February 24, 2015, 06:30:34 PM Hello,
You most likely have a low phpupload limit in your servers PHP settings. This is something your host can take a look at to determine why the upload is being timed out or blocked. The upload of a Template should only take around 5-10 seconds on any web host as it is not very large in size. In terms of the Site Shaper you can't install a Site Shaper to an already existing Joomla install. Site Shapers must be installed as new Joomla Packages with Sample Data added during the last step. You can view our Tutorials here for installation instructions. http://www.shape5.com/documentation/Getting-Started/How-to-Install-a-Joomla-Site-Shaper http://www.shape5.com/documentation/Getting-Started/How-To-Install-A-Joomla-Template : Re: Timeout on template upload/install : ksaltman February 24, 2015, 07:56:51 PM Yup watched the videos multiple times but no joy.
Not sure about the 5-10 second upload. I'm on a LTE cell connection and the .ZIP file for the Incline template I downloaded is 31MB. That's going to take some time. Please define what I need to select as the upload file when I go to install it and the steps needed to install just the template. Thanks : Re: Timeout on template upload/install : ksaltman February 25, 2015, 10:16:49 AM Just want to make sure someone will be able to respond because I'm kinda stuck not being able to install the template.
Thanks! : Re: Timeout on template upload/install : ksaltman February 25, 2015, 02:33:13 PM Ok with faster internet I was able to figure out that I needed to upload just the current template file not the site shaper. Still not seeing the style on my front end but atleast I see the template now in the template manager.
thanks : Re: Timeout on template upload/install : mikenicoll February 25, 2015, 03:04:05 PM Hello,
Have you gone into the Template Manager and set Incline as your "Default" style? : Re: Timeout on template upload/install : ksaltman February 25, 2015, 03:21:59 PM Yes set as default. Seems the style only shows up when I logged in. The start page didn't change style until I did a menu assignment for it. I also switched to corpway template so I am working through that now.
: Re: Timeout on template upload/install : mikenicoll February 25, 2015, 03:27:13 PM Alright,
The only thing that should affect this would be the default styles and menu assignments for that Template if you have them specified. You may also want to check any site cache you have enabled if you experience issues with it changing. |
