: Joomla 3.4.0 : Gutshot February 26, 2015, 07:51:37 AM Wise to upgrade already or wait ?
Does Shape 5 perform some tests on the templates/modules to see if there are any issues ? Personally, I rather wait a little while and watch the Joomla forums to see if there are any problems/issues when you upgrade to the latest version. And it is wise to do a full site backup before upgrading to 3.4.0 : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : Gutshot February 26, 2015, 08:06:14 AM On the Dutch Joomla community some problems with multilanguage websites, with the language filters, after the update they couln't not approch the site anymore.
Strange thing is that it is a bit 50-50 until now. Half the posters had no problems, the other half needed to do some adjustments in the language settings after the update. : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : mikek February 26, 2015, 08:55:48 AM Hello,
I have tested several of our installs throughout the beta process personally and have not found any issues with the templates the way they are. You should also have a backup before any upgrade though. : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : Gutshot February 26, 2015, 09:26:30 AM Good news then. Always hard to guess reading such problems, did they create their own template, what kind etc...so many factors that can have infuence.
: Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : kittrad February 26, 2015, 10:56:52 AM Hi Gutshot, it would be also nice if you can give an update on how the upgrade went for you.
: Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : Gutshot February 26, 2015, 01:29:51 PM Hi, I wish I could, but not home untill the 2nd week of March. Till then I have only a mobile connection.
I can't backup and update on this mobile connection. Kind regards, : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : sitework6 February 26, 2015, 02:44:53 PM Update--it was the shape5 Spotlight News module I had on the home page that broke the page. Unpublished it and the Business Pro template works fine.
I updated today and now have a completely blank home page (and one other). Most other pages in the site work fine, though. Using shape5 Business Pro template. I can get a homepage using a non-shape5 template, but plan to go back to 3.6 until it's figured out. : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : Gutshot February 26, 2015, 03:05:42 PM Thx for sharing, have to read it all careful what are the improvements.
Personaly, front-end editing on the modules is not that is important to me, all the sites are build that they can edit the articles. For most end users that is enough. : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : mikenicoll February 26, 2015, 08:53:05 PM Thanks for the reports guys.
We will continue to test 3.4 to see if there are any issues with modules/templates and make patches as needed. : Re: Joomla 3.4.0 : Gutshot February 27, 2015, 01:30:13 AM Thanks for the reports guys. We will continue to test 3.4 to see if there are any issues with modules/templates and make patches as needed.
