In the past, it was under the theme settings but I don't see anything like that now. Can you tell me how to connect the icons to my social media accounts?

They are controlled in a module now. Just search for "Social Icons" in the module manager. They use ion icons, sometimes it's best to turn off the editor when editing them due to issues with the editor itself stripping code. : Re: IonIcons : capstone March 10, 2015, 05:49:15 PM Thanks Mike!
