If I enable JS, CSS compression under general template settings, neither are being processed on the frontend.
I tried disabling  Gzip compression under Server setting - no change.  Cache settings under System are set to Conservative.

I justed checked the header response: it does say now - Content-Encoding:gzip,  is the css and js using minify as well ?

Hello,

All of our files have already been minified and load very fast. You should be able to use the JS/CSS compression built into the Template Manager to compress everything into a single file, reducing the amount of requests to the server. You may need to disable any server level caching for the compression to be visible as you may be seeing old file sets on the cache.
