: Main Menu not working get Error 404 : smichels May 14, 2015, 08:37:07 PM I'm thinking I'm missing something really simple here. I installed using site shaper and everything appeared to go well. But I cannot get my menu to work. It goes to an error 404.
I am using WordPress Modern Flavor, the Main Menu. I have added one page "Contact Us" and it does not work. I have deleted the entire site and re-installed site shaper, with the same results. Here is the dev site http://beachlogwebdesign.com/frvrvwp/ It didn't work as soon as it was installed. But since then I have updated all plugins and updated to WordPress 4.2.2 Also tried upgrading the vertex patch as found here: http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,96/task,cat_view/gid,308/ : Re: Main Menu not working get Error 404 : Tristan Rineer May 14, 2015, 08:58:38 PM If you go to "Settings -> Permalinks" in the admin and hit "Save", it will re-generate the .htaccess file that WP needs in order for the menu links to function correctly. The file cannot be included in the shaper, as it can be different based how a server is configured, and an .htaccess file with the wrong configuration support would break the whole site, rather than just link resolution.
