: need help with subdomain on this template
: jimbondox May 29, 2015, 01:41:58 PM
I have a client of ours that we want to share the info of their vehicle installation so their tech/mechanics no what to look for.

I created a subdomain for it on 1and1, but how would I go about making this work on our website. I want to make them login to view it so it will not be accessible to the public and i don't want them/well they don't need to  see the other menus.

basically we are doing work on the airports vehicles

I want them along with a govt agency to view the vehicle install data and images.

hope that makes sense.

I duplicated the template but from their I am lost

and i am trying to ask this during tech support hours.

I just want it to look clean and the same look of our website now

Thanks

Hello,

I am not 100% sure on this as our Template wouldn't control it but you should be able to create specific usergroup assignments in the back end of Joomla and setup access controls for each user group based on what content they are allowed to see. If you don't need a menu system you can always disable it via the menu system in the back end. You may also find a good ACL Extension in the extensions.joomla.org database that offers more functionality than the Joomla core but I am not aware of any recommendable ones at this time.

Regards,
