: Removal & Change of s5 Icon in Menu Browser Tabs
: mtwillard May 29, 2015, 01:53:44 PM
I've created my own favicons.ico  for the Risen Hope template to replace the s5 Icons in the browser Menu Tabs.  In the past, changing this was easy.  However in this template, I cannot find the directories to replace the image.

I need to know exactly what directories these files are located or what files the code has to be augmented to do this.

Attached is a screen shot showing exactly what I need to change.

Hello,

You just need to swap out the favicon.ico file in the root directory of the Template. After doing so be sure to clear your browser / site cache completely for it to update.

I did exactly that.  I deleted the original favicon from the root directory.  Added my new one with the exact same name, favicon.ico, refreshed my browser and I still have the s5 favicon.

Ive been using your templates for years, and have never encountered this problem.  It's usually very simple an easy.  I have even deleted all favicons from the template and the s5 icon still appears.

Either I'm missing something, or I'm not finding the right directory.  It looks to me it is laced in the code.  I've done a server end search for all favicons.ico on the site.  All references are found in css, php, and html files, but know direct icon images.  Except for the ion-icons.svg in CSS, for mobile devices.

What I'm I missing???

I'm in the final leg of development before this site goes into production.  Need to get this problem fixed.

thnks for your quick response

Hello,

The steps listed above are all that is required. Perhaps try deleting the favicon.ico file on your server first and then upload, in case there's a permission problem where it's not actually over-writing. Did you completely clear your cache as stated above? You must clear your cache or favicon.ico's will not update on your local browser.
