I was trying to create a menu that links directly to a PDF file in the media manager. The step I took: Go to main menu, add new menu, menu type > system links > external url, copy/paste the full url/path, chose to open in new window. (This is the only way I know how to link a menu to a file... I wasn't aware of any other ways so if you guys know a better way to do it please share with me.)

However, this time when I follow the above method, my homepage went blank! I can see the corpway background image that's all, all the content, module, images are gone! Until I disable that menu or make it open in the "same window", then everything went back to normal. I tried it several times, and same thing happens.

I never encounter this with other templates and this site is a fresh new install with the corpway quickstart package. So I'm wondering if there is a bug in this template to cause this?

If you guys wants to take a look at the backend, I can PM you my site login.
You'll have to change that PDF menu to make it open in a "new window" and then you'll see what will do the the front page, unless you see this happen to others before?

Are you on the latest version of Vertex 3.7? Does the issue occur on a stock Joomla Template?

I can take a look but can you see if using a default Joomla Template if the same issue occurs? This would eliminate the Template specifically as the culprit.

I didn't see any resolution to this problem.  What was the fix?  I have the same problem when using external URL in the menu to a PDF.
