: H1 tags on front page
: capstone August 10, 2015, 06:23:14 PM
I'm trying to get an H1 tag to display on the front page of the site.  I can't seem to get it to happen.  Can someone point me in the right direction to get this to work?  Thanks!

Hello,

H1 Tags are controlled under the Menu Item > Page Display. There is an input box you can enter for an H1 tag. Also ensure the "Show Page Title" is set to "Enabled" or it will not display on the front end.

Hi Mike!

Thanks for the quick response.  That's how I have it set up, but when I check the page, there's no H1.  I can pm you a login if you would like to check it out.  The url is https://captechgroup.com

Sorry for the trouble.

Hi Mike,

I can get it to work on other pages, just not the "Home" or front page of the site.  I'm trying to get it in that page specifically for SEO reasons.

Thanks!

Hello,

Nothing in the Template would hide the H1 on a page by page basis. The only thing that controls this would be under the Menu Settings for Joomla. Be sure you have the Component area active on the main page as the H1 tag is embedded inside this area.

Hi Mike,

I installed this template as a site shaper and have been running with the default settings.  In the Template Manager->Vertex->General->Component Area, I show that HOME is active but I'm not sure what menu area you're talking about.  There's a Template Manager->Menus Assignment area that I don't have anything checked in, but I am not sure what that area does.

As far as in Joomla itself (Menus->Main Menu->Home), I've checked the settings and in Page Display, I have the entries I want in Browser Page Title and Page Heading and have Show Page Heading set to "yes".

I'm sorry to go on about this but I can't seem to figure out why I can't get a H1 tag on the front page.  I can pm you a password if you would like to take a look...

Thanks again!
