: Question about Developer Membership
: renielcole October 07, 2015, 06:45:53 AM
Hello!

I really like shape5 templates and the framework too, so I'm planning to avail the developer membership. This is what I'm planning to do.

1. Buy the Developer Membership for unlimited Domain option
2. Create J! website with your template and extensions and sell it to some small businesses near my area.

I'm not planning to turn this into a big business or something, i just wanted to earn extra money to graduate college..  ;D

So, Am i allowed to do this with the said membership? Will i get the correct rights regarding this matter?

Thank you!

Hello,

Yes, the developer membership was designed for just this. It's meant for developers like yourself, that are building sites for clients. If you have any other questions please let us know.

Cool, What will happen if my subscription expires? Will I still be able to use the template and extensions fully, ie updating?

Hello,

All that happens when a membership expires is your access to downloads and support are discontinued. All products still continue to work as normal. You would not continue to get product updates, but you will get framework updates; they are free and can be downloaded at any time. Almost all of our updates happen on the framework level.

More power to you. I started small like this in 1999.

I do have one suggestion. As you get into this, get used to digging around a bit to find answers.
You'll be amazed at the generosity of other geeks and their willingness to share their skills.

You won't be awesome if you get spoon fed answers that are easy to find.

Hello,

I agree with netstepinc's comments above. The coding community is always very open to share knowledge, not just here, but my other sites as well. Most of what I personally know from coding is just from giving and receiving information with online coding communities.
