: Error message using IE7
: mesquite February 17, 2009, 11:53:42 AM
Please view: http://balancelifemagazine.co.uk/essex-dining.html.
Perfect in Firefox but when using IE I get this message as do all my clients using IE7.

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://balancelifemagazine.co.uk/essex-dining.html. Operation aborted.
Can this be fixed as the template is perfect for the website.

Regards
Terry

Hello Terry,

Try disabling the tooltips javascript and see if the error goes away.

Thanks Jonah
I found it's module : mod_ja_header.
As soon as I set it to: Javascript Fade Slideshow and not Flash Slideshow the problem went away.

Love the plate by the way.

Terry

If you open up your index.php file and look for:

<?php if ($s5_tooltips  == "yes") { ?>
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php echo $LiveSiteUrl;?>/templates/city_portal/js/tooltips.js"></script>
<?php } ?>

Remove this and see if this helps.

I removed that line and it did not do anything. The top layer  of links is still to low and the
site will not load. Anymore help is appreciated as I can't really go live till it works in IE
I appreciate the help

Did you put it back in?  It appears that this code is still in there.

No I didn't put it back in maybe I took it out of the wrong place?

: Re: Error message using IE7

<?php if (($s5_menu  == "1") || ($s5_menu  == "2") || ($s5_menu  == "3") ) { ?>
<link href="<?php echo $LiveSiteUrl;?>/templates/city_portal/css/suckerfish.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<?php } ?>
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php echo $LiveSiteUrl;?>/templates/city_portal/js/s5_effects.js"></script>
<?php if (($s5_menu  == "1") || ($s5_menu  == "2") || ($s5_menu  == "3")) { ?>
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php echo $LiveSiteUrl;?>/templates/city_portal/js/IEsuckerfish.js"></script>
<?php } ?>
This is were it was
<?php if ($s5_color  == "blue") { ?>
<link href="<?php echo $LiveSiteUrl;?>/templates/city_portal/css/blue.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<?php } ?>
<?php if ($s5_color  == "orange") { ?>
<link href="<?php echo $LiveSiteUrl;?>/templates/city_portal/css/orange.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<?php } ?>

I took out the line you requested me to remove right here, am I in the wrong place?

It looks like you took out the lytebox js file and not the tooltips js link.  The tooltips link is located at the very bottom of the index.php file.

I still have the same problem as before..

It appears to be your "slick RSS" module.  After unpublishing this module the error no longer occurs in IE7.  I would check with the developer of this module and see what they suggest.

My client reports the same issue - I don't use I.E.     What do you mean by his "slick"  RSS feed - the button that installed with the site shaper in the top black bar?

If I delete that reference from the index.php - can I expect this message to go away?

The client is highly troubled by this.   Thanks.

The slick RSS module should be located in your modules manager.  If you just unpublish that module this seemed to fix the problem for me.
