: Setting up modules for text... : p15d24 January 19, 2016, 12:34:56 PM I'm coming from a simple 1.6 Joomla template and need a little direction how to set up modules with additional text. I have migrated my content articles and set up a basic menu structure in my J3 installation. Now I want to add content to middle top in 3 boxes under my base page text. I would like this text to be "snippets" of news from my content articles. For example we have a page announcing upcoming regattas, and I would to be able to strip of the latest announcement from that page and display it in a middle content box(es) on the home page with a link back to the full page. In a similar manner for race results and association announcements. I'm missing what I need to install (assuming some sort of extension) to strip and display the content in the middle content boxes.

You would need to use either the default newsflash or latest new module to achieve something like this. These are default modules to Joomla. In the module manager click on New and then select either of those from the selection of new modules. After that configure it to pull from your desired category and publish it to any of the available template positions. |
