That is your component and article area. You can hide this on any page under the Main / Layout tab in the template configuration. Can you please be more specific? If you are on the area that I mentioned above you can turn this area off for any item that you select from the menu list. The setting is right in the middle of the page and it's called "Hide Component Output?".
