: Host Is Report Malware in jquery-ui-addons.js file
: GreylingD March 31, 2016, 01:19:39 AM
Hi,

I host a Luxon installation with my host, Hostgator.

Twice now they've shut my service down and claimed there to be Malware on a file /templates/luxon/js/jquery/jquery-ui-addons.js

However, this file is an exact replica of the one you use on your demo site. Do you have any idea on what could be causing this false positive reading? Hostgator's generic replies won't respond to my argument that it's not Malware, and they refuse to re-instate the account until the file is removed / cleaned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sheldon Greyling.

Hello,

I am sorry I have no idea why they would be telling you that, there is definitely nothing wrong with the file. It was built directly from Jquery's site and it has nothing but core Jquery functions in it.

I've just rebuilt the files with the latest versions from Jquery. That file is attached. Can you try replacing your file with this one and let me know what they say?

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I have updated the file and will wait to see if they detect anything again, this may take a few months but if anything comes up I'll reply to this post.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I've just had a customer tell me that their personal virus scanner is detecting a virus through the same file:

 Virus scanning of web content

        Address: http://www.domain-name.com/templates/luxon/js/jquery/jquery-ui-addons.js
Status : Access is denied .

I replaced the file with the one you sent too. I'm honestly totally unsure on why this is happening.

Here is a link (http://www.nordiclodges.com/templates/luxon/js/jquery/jquery-ui-addons.js) to the file on the website in question.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sheldon Greyling

Hello,

Can you ask them what virus scanner they are using? I have no idea why it is being triggered, I've tested it on virustotal.com and scanned it locally with Norton and McAfee and none of them have any issues with the file.
