: Wordpress theme rewrite with codeigniter?
: LondonHelp April 11, 2016, 09:13:52 AM
Hello,

I have this website https://www.LondonHelp.co.uk (https://www.LondonHelp.co.uk) on Wordpress and works fine, but now I am building a new platform on the same domain that uses another wordpress theme. My programmer is telling me that it is very hard to modify wordpress theme and he is offering to rewrite the whole platform with codeigniter.
I am adding new features and making changes on the Wordpress theme, but nothing major.

What do you think? Should I stay with Wordpress theme or rewrite the whole site with codeigniter?

If you are planning to use a Shape 5 theme on your new site, keep in mind that support does not cover third-party software or custom coding.  This means that if you somehow manage to get a Shape 5 theme running on CodeIgniter, any problems you have will be your responsibility to solve.

Any other WordPress developer will most likely tell you the same thing.

If you want a site written with CodeIgniter, I recommend talking with a designer, and just having a custom design that is actually built for that platform.  If you want WordPress themes, plugins, and functionality, then you should just stick with WP.
