: Google Maps API error on "fitness-center" wordpress theme
: shape2016 July 25, 2016, 09:43:53 AM
Hi Support

I'm working on wp/fitness-center and getting an error, which is pointing to missing Google Maps API.

"Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details."

JS console points to missing Google Maps API.

I've also signed up for Google API but could not figure out where would into?

I just asked one of the other developers, and it appears that there have been some changes to the way the API works.  I plan to have an update to the plugin available by the end of the day today, I'll reply here again once it's ready.

I've just uploaded a new version of MapIt that will allow you to enter the API key, this should hopefully fix the issue you're having.

Good to hear.

1) Where do I download MapIt as a widget?
or
2) Would it come via Theme Refresh/Update

Once I'm able to get my hands on MapIt, would surely enter the API key to make it work.

The plugin is available in the downloads area: http://www.shape5.com/wordpress/free_plugins/s5_map_it_with_google.html

[Note: I am moving this topic to the correct board; please remember in the future to post theme/plugin specific questions to the board created specifically for the theme/plugin you are asking about.]

In addition, if the plugin is exactly with the same name as before, then would we get "Destination folder already exists" error? Please confirm. Thanks.

You will need to remove the old version of the plugin before you can install the new version if installing through the WP plugin manager; if you use FTP, you'll just need to overwrite any files it asks about when uploading the extracted files from the zip to the wp-content/plugins folder.
