: htaccess point to 404 error page
: barryosteo August 19, 2016, 09:33:50 AM
Hi,

I am thinking of using htaccess to capture error calls such as 404, 500 & 401 - all pointing to the Shape5 theme 404 page.

I have had a look around the directories but can't seem to see the page.

I also searched the forums but as a fully paid up member for Wordpress I cannot access joomla forums which may have an answer!

Any help appreciated.

The file that triggers the 404 is 404.php in the theme folder; you can probably just point the errors at that or duplicate the file for other errors, depending on how WP handles it.  The file itself doesn't handle errors, it just tells the theme that it needs to load the error page, which is a standard WP page that can be created/edited in the "Pages" area of WP admin.
