: Using a third party search module with Amazed Photography template
: Unarco November 02, 2016, 08:57:11 AM
Hello,

I would like to use a different search module than the one with the template come in, in particular the Ajax Live Search.

I have tried placing it in the search position but it seems that is difficult to make it works properly (even I disinstalled the search module of the template, I can only see the original magnifier icon instead of the search text box of such above module).
I also tried to place the search module in custom_1 position, the module works fine, but the layout result is not nice (there is too much blank space between the modules, see the attached picture).

I kindly ask you:

1. what should I do to place such above module in the search position avoiding to see only the magnifier icon and to let that module working properly?
2. what should I do to place that module in custom_1 position and reduce the blank space in the attached picture to the minimum?

Thanks in advance for your help

Roberto

Hello,

1. It would require custom coding to change the search from the popup to standard on page. Unfortunately this is outside the scope of forum support

2. Again this is custom coding but you would need to edit the index.php file and perhaps some CSS along with it.

I recommend using firebug inspect tool and this will help you find where spacing, etc is coming from in the CSS

You would need to look for the search position in the index.php file and move it. Affected CSS would be custom coding. If you would like our help with this you can submit a query here:
