: KlintWeb - Big Business - optimized GTMetrix 100/100 - Google PageSpeed 100/100
: KlintWeb January 29, 2017, 06:25:27 AM
I've just finished the first chapter of my own new site, build on the template Big Buseness.

I have supplemented the template custom code for this design for several of the pages. The site is in Danish only, but you can use the browser to translate

Open graph, Twitter Card and Structured Data is added as overrides and optimized by creating overrides on the template

The site is optimized with JCH Optimize and of course Akeeba Admin Tools - .htaccess and firewall. And SEO has been optimized width RSSeo
Google don't like a lot of background images. That's why I've changed some of them with icons - most from Ion Icons

Google Analytic use to make it impossible to score 100% on PageSpeed. But when you do it right, it's possible  ;)

You are more than welcome to leave a comment  :)

Thanks a lot Jonah :)

The last two weeks I had some troubles with the Google PageSpeed Insight, but now it's back on 100 / 100 again almost every test - depending on the traffic on the server - shared host GoGeek at SiteGround. I've not changed anything which could make a difference. Therefore it looks like it's something we can not do anything about.

After adding keycdn for the static files - CSS, Scripts, Images etc. the score on
  • GTMetrix is 100 / 99 https://gtmetrix.com/reports/klintwebdesign.dk/rPsAcPq6 (https://gtmetrix.com/reports/klintwebdesign.dk/rPsAcPq6)
  • Performance Grade on Pingdom A 100

Next step will be 100 / 100 on GTMetrix
  ;)

Nice job,

GTmetrix made it harder now for us. Full page load.

Lately it is getting harder to get it real fast. Most people come to me for video for header instead of a slider which result in bigger page size and when linked in more requests. Using Google fonts is also something slows down.

Think the key is to don't need more as needed but at the same time you also wants something nice.

Thanks for the update. I thought I had responded yesterday but either way I added this to the blog post here:

Thanks ;) you are right - that's why I'm trying CDN
Since I added the topic, I found expired, that CloudFlare don't offer a cookie less CDN.
That's why I chose keyCDN - it's affordable and the score on GTMetrix now is 100 / 99 - I still need to find how one empty <style> is being added to the head.

Thanks - I'm glad
As you can see below, I've improved it a bit more with CDN. But not ClousFlaire, because they don't offer cookieless - keyCDN has a good offer and works as a charm

Hi,

Working with JCH optimize a few years now, it works great.. it requires a lot of testing when optimizing. With most extensions/plugins there shouldn't be to much problems. With more "advanced" extensions you can run into some trouble and have to figure out how to exclude them. I have some sites that score AA grade with a loading time of around 4 seconds and some "B grade" sites that loads within 2 or 3 seconds. It is an important tool you need to optimize so you see that is some improvement while optimizing. Although some websites that have a horrible score according GTMetrix (lets's say 10-20 seconds) are loading within just a few seconds when you visit them. Funny.. Am I being crazy or just a fool who takes optimizing to serious ?

What most of us run into; some clients have picked there own hosting; cheap crap hosting, so a part of the optimizing is lost. I see it often when finishing a website on Siteground (working domain) and then transfer it to their host;  Aaaarrggh..  >:(.

Never scored 100-100. Mostly because of the fonts that have to load and some small png files in the templates.

My scores in the attachments, not using a CDN and stopped to optimize any further because I was satisfied and it runs stable.

About Admin tools; happy with it.. protecting all my websites with it for over 2 years now.
One thing; turn of the notification mail. Only a mail of successful logins is enough. Otherwise you go crazy  ;D

What need now is a way show video for header and keep good performance.  Problem is when linked Vimeo and Youtube don't support custom dimensions. ( full width* 1929x600 ). tried a few extensions but they all load weird when on top of the webpage. Now made a custom loop of 1920x700 of 15mb. This increases the page size badly. But they want it this way...  :-\

ps.

I think the images in the slider are compressed a bit to much.
