I am redesigning my nearly 5-year-old Joomla 2.5 (Metro Shows) based site. I am trying to make use of masonry, the results are OK so far, though I think someone with more knowledge of the available styles could think of a way to make it look better. The idea is I have several categories of consulting services that my business performs. I've created a top-level category for 'Services' that has several sub-categories for service categories. There is a main menu item call "Services" that invokes a single (mostly blank) article. The Masonry module is assigned to this menu module in the 'custom_1' position.

So when you first select the menu item it looks like this the picture in Capture1. Select a different category and the screen updates as in Capture2. However, if you click on a service you get the appropriate article, but with no navigation to go back. I turned off the default navigation as seeing the previous and next did not make any sense. I added a menu to 'right-bottom' that just had the "Return to Services List" item to get you back to the services page (it is a menu alias). I didn't really want it on the Services page since you were already on it, but I expected it to be there after the article was rendered - but it was not.

So any suggestions on improving the look would be appreciated. But, it is very important to figure out how I can make it easier to go back to the Masonry module showing the categories from the screen viewing an article. Suggestions? It would also be nice to figure out how to reduce the excessive padding at the top of the article view.

Your images are showing as it is intended to work. The links are only links that show on the module, they are not a header or navigation for articles. If you want those to show on the article page you would also need to publish the masonry module on the article page's category menu item.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. I guess it doesn't matter now as I have had to move on. I am using a Category Blog instead now. It works, though I wish the template gave me some other formats besides just black text on a white background. I do not want to write a lot of .css code. But that is how I did it on my older (Metro Shows) version.
