: Problems displaying Index Page IE
: wowwebde March 11, 2009, 07:35:04 AM
I have built a church webpage using New Architect as the template.  It was built using Mozilla Firefox as a browser.  Everything works perfectly in Firefox.

In Internet Explorer 6 and 7 on two different machines, it does not display the index page properly.  Other pages are fine but it is pretty much blank from the header down.  I have no idea what is going on.

The address is at www.athertonbaptist.org.au.

I would appreciate any advice possible.

Regards

Rolf

Hello Roff,

I think this is caused by a copy paste problem, I believe its the text you pasted in the banner module position.  I see the below being output notice the "end if" which is output in IE.  Remove the below code and see if this helps:

:
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning /> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas /> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables /> <w:SnapToGridInCell /> <w:WrapTextWithPunct /> <w:UseAsianBreakRules /> <w:DontGrowAutofit /> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if !mso]>

Hello, i get this error suddenly in my template, and it is not true that IE6 or lower is being used:

**********
You are using Internet Explorer 6.0 or older to view the web.
Due to security risks and a lack of support for web standards this website does not support IE6. Internet Explorer 6 was released in 2001 and it does not display modern web sites properly. Please upgrade to a newer browser to fully enjoy this site and the rest of the web.

After you update, please come back and you will be able to view our site.

I do not want it to appear, where i disable???

Hello,

In the vertex folder under IE6 message check to see if you have another version being added to this message. You can also disable this in the Template Manager in the back end.
