: Shenandoah and Multi Language Sites : lszlsz March 09, 2017, 09:08:51 AM Hi all
First of all congrats for the templates, great work,! But I encountered one difficulty: How can I install a multi language website with the Shenandoah template? The point of resistance are the menu options in the template settings. As far as I understand it one needs to set there the menu that should be displayed on the website as the menu is not placed by the usual module place holder. But I have two menus, one for each language. I could fuse them into one but then the language switcher from Joomla does not work anymore. I found a tutorial that shows some additional options for this in the template settings but Shenandoah doesn't seem to have them. What am I missing? Thanks for your help :-) Lorenz : Re: Shenandoah and Multi Language Sites : mikek March 09, 2017, 09:38:05 AM Hello,
That is correct you would have two menus and the menu will automatically switch when the user selects their language using the Joomla language module. As a side note, if this is a new site and you are able I would highly suggest using a different template. This template still works and it's still supported but it's a much older template that is not built on our Vertex framework which has a lot more options. It is also not a responsive template so it won't function well on mobile devices. Corporate Response has a very similar look to this template if you are interested in that one. : Re: Shenandoah and Multi Language Sites : lszlsz March 14, 2017, 08:35:36 AM Hi
Thanks for the tipp, I switched the template. I followed it and found the language menu settings in the template section. I followed the instructions of a youtube video of you but the language switcher doesn't show up. Where would that be? And do I understand that correctly: I don't have to publish the built-in language switcher module, the template has this functionality included? Kindly, Lorenz : Re: Shenandoah and Multi Language Sites : mikek March 15, 2017, 05:59:13 PM Hello,
The template doesn't control any part of that. The language switcher is a module that you must publish after you setup your languages. The template does not have a built in function for language control. |
