: S5 Masonry not loading articles when read more or title clicked
: jswatt3 March 17, 2017, 03:07:55 AM
Hi there,

I have been working through building my new site and had things looking pretty good but updated Vertex and post this Masonry appears to no longer function correctly.
I can load the module and it will load the articles into the grid but if I click the read more or the article title it doesn't load the article it reloads the module but with the article address in the URL.
the category titles appears on the right and I can select a category and it will limit the articles correctly but will not load articles.
I have tried rolling back vertex but have had no success in getting masonry to operate correctly and now the site is on hold, I'd appreciate some thoughts on what next.

you can see the issue at http://johnwattphoto.com/_shape/index.php/photo-blog

Hello,

You just need to either assign a menu item to each article or just put the articles inside a category and then point a menu item to that category.

Hey Jonah, Ok so tested that and yes it works but that makes no sense for the point of the module surely? (and I'm sure it was working before) When I look at your demo you don't have appear to have menu items for each of the categories you have in the masonry set up. You have a category blog link but that seems to be it. sure;y I should be able to click read more on any of the articles in the masonry grid without doing anything else, doesn't joomla & the module take care of the link ups?

With Joomla an article will show on the homepage by default when the read more is clicked. This is whats happening. But you can create 1 parent category with a menu item assigned to it. You don't have to create menu items for each sub category of the main one.
