: Issue with Footer Not Showing
: ibweb March 20, 2017, 08:32:09 AM
Sometime this month after March 3rd or so, the footer on our website using the Ez Web Hosting theme disappeared.  The footer is just the dark grey but no content is being loaded.  Nothing changed with footer.php.  In fact we even loaded in the original footer.php from the theme to see if it would load correctly.

Also, we disabled all caching and compression tools, cleared caches etc. and the footer is still not loading in.  Have you all seen this issue with any of your other designs?  If so what was the fix?

Hello,

That is quite odd, I've never heard of this before. Can you post a URL of the site?

Sorry for the delay.  I will PM you with the URL as well as login credentials to look around.

It looks like you posted a module to the "footer" position which then overrides the footer.php file. Just unpublish this module and it will show.

Wow, thanks for your help.
It's actually a bit odd, because that module was unpublished.  Yet it was still publishing to the "footer" position.  So for future reference, anyone using this template, a module allocated to the "footer" position will interfere with footer.php regardless of if it's "published" or "unpublished".

Happy to assist!

When I looked at your site yesterday it was published. There is no way the template has the ability to override or force show a module in a position, its all controlled by Joomla.
