Hey Shape5 community, I hope you're all good and can help me with a small problem

I am building menus using text seperator menu items.

So here is an example of my problem
Text seperator name/alias is media-downloads
Under this text seperator is a link to page box-art

I want the clickable link for Box art to be domain.com/box-art but instead its displaying as domain.com/media-downloads/box-art

Now this of course would be fine, but it gives me a 404 error, so I am looking to EITHER
a) make the link just come up as domain.com/box-art
OR
b) make the link media-downloads/box-art actually work (there is actually a category of the same name for media-downloads of which box-art article is a member

This is Joomla 3.6.5 and Game World 2015 theme.

Could someone please help?

Hello,

A template doesn't control any part of how urls are created. That is completely handled by Joomla itself, and it will always takes on the parent alias as part of its url structure.

a. I am not aware of a way to do that, as I said above it always takes on the parent url.

b. It should automatically be doing this. If you are using SEF make sure you have renamed your htaccess.txt file to .htaccess

I renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess
