: Lime Light and EasyDiscuss from StackIdeas

When using an EasyDiscuss Forum on the front end of the custom Lime Light template currently in use, the drop down menus conflict, and the Logout Button is unresponsive. Let me know how I can fix this.

Thanks

Hello,

Please post a url to where this occurs. If this is being caused by a javascript conflict that is something that the extensions developer will need to fix; I can see if there are any obvious problems though.

Hi Mike,

Go here and try the drop down menu and the login and register buttons:
http://lab-andrew.community123.biz/index.php
(They work fine on the home page)

Then go to the EasyDiscuss page here and try both:
http://lab-andrew.community123.biz/index.php/community/test-forum
The drop down menu gets cut off when it hits the top of the forum page.
The Login and Register buttons do nothing.

Please advise on suggestions to fix.

Thank you

Hello,

Their javascript is causing some kind of jquery conflict on the page because I am getting this error:

TypeError: jQuery(...).colorbox is not a function

It's saying that function is not defined by the S5 Box, but it is, which means another script is breaking it.

If you can private message me ftp access I can try to determine exactly what file is causing the issue, but it's not something I am going to be able to fix for you. It is something that is wrong with their extension and something that they would need to correct - we do not provide support on third party extensions.

Mike,

The issue was resolved by turning off "Load jQuery" from the backend for EasyDiscuss. Next question is: will we lose anything important from turning this option off?

Thanks!

Hello,

That would be something you would need to check with EasyDiscuss, I don't know what specific requirements their extension has on Jquery.
