: Content Items Fail to Render
: coffejor August 29, 2017, 05:58:24 AM
Good morning,

Thank you for the great templates, I enjoy working with them.

About a month ago I started to have issues with a website that I implemented approximately three years ago using the Risen Hope template (http://semncompsq.com/). The content elements "collapse" on themselves (see screenshot) so that you can't view the content or access the navigation. It is as if the page content loads, but then the content litterally shrinks. There haven't been any changes to the site as of recently (i.e., no major changes in the last couple of years) other than keeping up with Joomla updates.

Thank you in advance for your help and insights.

Hello,

I loaded your site but I am not seeing this issue, is there a way for me to reproduce it?

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the fast response. It appears to only happen in Firefox (at least with the computer I have in front of me). The site loads fine with IE and Chrome (as well as Safari on my iPhone). I don't have immediate access to another computer, so I can't confirm that this is a broad FF issue (though I have seen this behavior while using other computers in the past).

Hello,

I am looking at your site on Firefox and just tried another computer and I am not seeing this issue. If you can figure out exact settings to replicate this please let me know. My assumption would be this is a latency issue, it looks like the database is not loading content; which would not be something related to the template.

Hi Mike,

Thanks again for the insights.

Database latency might be the case. I've been havnig performance problems with my host and have been thinking of moving (they claim that the servers are running fine and blame Joomla and bloated templates). I know that this gets outside the realm of the template, but is there anyway that I can test for a latency issue?

Thanks again!

Hello,

I would just do some random speed tests on your site and if you get anything higher than a 10 second load time you definitely have server latency issues. I would recommend trying to replicate this problem from multiple computers before you do that though.
