: [SOLVED] Need Help With Module/Background Image
: yaani September 11, 2017, 10:15:49 AM
Hi,

I specified a background image in Extensions>Templates>Styles>Charity - Default>Main>Layout>Top Row 1 Positions>Row Backgrounds

I set "Set Your Own Custom Background" to "Yes" and assigned a background image in  "Background Image Name".  I assigned a module to module position top_row1_1 on the Kart Rentals page.

As seen here http://us508.directrouter.com/   ~tzwwbqem/index.php/kart-rentals (please remove spaces in url)

This worked great, but I would like a different image on different pages. Can you tell me how I might be able to use a different image on different pages? I tried using a Custom HTML module & assigning it to position top_row1_1 but it doesn't stretch across the entire area on my monitor, just across the main content area.

I was wondering if you could suggest a solution to have a different image stretch across the entire screen on different pages, maybe a css class?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

I may have found a solution. I am experimenting with the S5 Image and Content Fader v4  module on this page here
http://us508.directrouter.com/   ~tzwwbqem/index.php/kart-rentals/test (please remove spaces in url)

It seems to work very well using just one image.

Do you know if there is a way to have teh scrolling text scroll onto the page & then stop (instead of continually scrolling on & off the page)?

Thank you!

Well, apparently that solution won't work because when I publish the S5 Image and Content Fader on another page (the Kart Rental page)
the S5 Image and COntent fader on the Home page stops working (the images don't display) if I unpublish the module on the Rental Karts page the module on the Home page works again. Can the S5 Image and Content Fader module only be published on one page?

Hello,

If you want different images on different pages you would need to use multiple template styles, which you can create in the Joomla template manager. Just create a new style and assign that style to a specific menu item and change the image on that new style. I would highly recommend keeping styles to a minimum though, because you then have to keep multiple style settings in sync.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your reply. Can you explain what you mean when you say "I would highly recommend keeping styles to a minimum though, because you then have to keep multiple style settings in sync. " What do I need to do in order to keep the styles in sync?

Hello,

If you have several styles setup that means you have completely independent template settings for each of those. So if you want to change a template setting you have to change it in all styles. Because of that it is not a good thing to have a lot of styles.
