Adding a menu item would not make the menu disappear. Did you upgrade to Joomla 3.8? If so, are you running Vertex 4.2? 3.8 is causing menu issues and you need to upgrade Vertex: https://www.shape5.com/documentation/Vertex-Framework/Joomla-Specific/How-To-Patch-Vertex-In-Joomla-and-Changelog |
