: och plugin vs. template

Hello

I am using the ochBlog plugin on this template (https://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/authoring-a-content/blog/ochblog/).  This plug-in uses standard Joomla articles so I thought it would be easier?!   When I create a new article (blog post) I was getting an unexpected result so emailed the developer... below is the reply... is this issue a setting or modification that I can make?

"Just had a look at the website: looks good!  -  What I always do to pinpoint what could be the problem when things do not work is switch template. When switching the template to the default protostar, all the views work correct!

So the issue is in the Attractions template: what it does is 'disable' the component output on the pages where it is not working. I have no clue on how to change that and I do not want to experiment because that could break the site.  -  So the issues with the edit form, etc is due to the template: that is where something needs to change."

Sample > http://www.clairesview.com/articleslist/travel  ... The post 'Travel Blog Post 2 - New York City'  was a renamed sample and it works to redirect to the actual blog article when clicked (http://www.clairesview.com/travel2).  However if you click 'Travel Blog Post 2 - New York City (2)' (which is just a duplicate of the first article)... is redirects to the home page (but URL is http://www.clairesview.com/33-blog-main/travel/218-sample-blog-post-6-travel-2).   I have tried using a alias - no success

Ideas?

Thanks

Thanks!

Hello,

This is how Joomla works. If an article isn't directly assigned to a menu item or isn't assigned to a category that is assigned to a menu item, then it just opens on the frontpage. Once you do one of these things then it will work

Yes or you create a menu item for a category. Then you can publish a bunch of articles to that category and not create menu items for each article.
