Hi Support,

We are using some of your templates, my question is related with ion icons update.  We want to updated ion icons of the template.  For example charity template is using vertex 4.2.0 version but ion icon version is 2.0.  We want to update all of the ion icons on our sites.

My question is to you what's the right process to do this.   We researched about this on the forum and found this thread

If this is the right process, when a new vertex update is applied and it has ion icons css and fonts, will my files will be overriden?  Is there any proper solution for this?

Hello,

Are they not showing for you? I don't follow why you are trying to update them. Vertex does run v 2.0 of ion icons as you mention but this was updated several years ago.

There was only slight class changes from v1.0 to v2.0 of the icons. "ios7" was removed. So if any icons aren't showing just remove that from them and they should then show fine.

I don't have any issue with the icons.
I want to update icons to use the latest version of the icons.
I found that vertex also has font awesome icons file.
how we can update both these so that on each vertex updated these files not get overridden?

If you want to be on version 3 we don't support this. But you can update by swapping out the files. There is no way to stop them getting overwritten by Vertex updates unless you update Vertex via FTP and you take out the CSS for font awesome and ion icons manually before overwriting.
