: SOLVED Home(mainmenu) alternating between /home and /index.php?Item=1 : mummygeek July 01, 2009, 08:54:22 AM With Joomla SEF enabled the 'Home' link on the mainmenu either goes to:
mydomain/home which if clicked takes me to a homepage without any enabled mods, logins any items I expect thus making navigation impossible. :( OR mydomain/index.php?Item=1 which gets me back to the homepage looking as it should. :) (and mostly now - mydomain/home.html - which is a false homepage too.) I've not worked out the pattern for how this is working but SEF seems to be involved. If i disable Joomla SEF there's not a problem getting back to the correct homepage. The Breadcrumbs 'Home' link works consistently with JoomlaSEF enabled. This is in the public area of the site. which sounds rather simillar. I have *SOLVED* this problem for me - ie; my 'Home' link main menu now works - it's not scientific and may well not work for everyone but all I did was... Change the 'Home' link alias to 'homepage' - chose to leave the main menu title as 'Home' - this alias change seems to have fixed the whole problem. Breadcrumbs works as it did before but SEF now consistently works for the 'Home' link too. Hope this helps. Mummy |
