The admin scrip that creates tooltips over the edit button on articles (hover over the edit button when you're logged in and you'll see a tooltip) sometimes causes this error on certain servers. If this only happens for admins that is most likely the cause. You can also try disabling the tooltips and lytebox script in the template configuration area.

it would seem the main problem is earlier versions of IE , if using IE 8 , their ( members )  seeing the site ok. but if using an earlier version they get " Operation Aborted" message, any solution to this ?

I've advised our members to update to IE8, but what happens to visitors from all over if they're using an older version, and can't access our site.......not much good.
I like this template, and the way it sets up, but if i can't get a solution to this problem i may need to change

Having the same issues with IE 7 crapping out on this great looking template. Any fix for this aborted error?

Or do I have to yet get another template or use another template provider? For a template to be of any value it has to work with standard browsers, and so many people use IE7.  Is there any effort to find a fix for this, or I am yet once again screwed by choosing the wrong template?

My whole site is almost ready to go  live and it is based on the Sportopolis template and for it to be of any value, the template has to work on standard browsers such as IE7, IE 8, and FF,  and Safari. I am not that fussy on it working with IE6.

Any suggestions and any fixes for this?

Please post a url so I can see your code. Aborted errors are almost always caused by modules. You can try disabling modules one by one to see if the error goes away.

Mikem,

Thank you for your feedback. I have been  turning off modules etc since writing this post last night, and after investigating this issue further I am sure it is a module.  I only need to use a PC that has IE7, as my PCs (2 of them) have IE8 (which works fine) and Firefox (which works fine). Safari works fine also.

It is just IE7 that doesn't seem to work, but maybe I fixed it by turning off some modules and plugins. I will be testing it later today and will report back. The site is offline until I get everything working properly but I can send you a user name and password.

Your time is valuable and I appreciate your feedback. Just let me know how to get you the username and password? Maybe you can track the issue down quicker than I can.

I really want to stick with the Shape5.com Sportopolis template as it is exactly fitting my site needs. I am turning off modules and plugins to see which one is the cause of this issue.

As long as  it isn't a template issue, and your feedback confirms this, I am not so worried. I will track the issue down.

Hello, I disabled your tooltips script in the template configuration and it seems to be loading now. This script sometimes has problems with the tooltips script that the edit button for articles uses, but only on certain servers.

Mike,

I have been dealing with support issues for over 20 years and there are some major performance criteria for listing a company as one of the best in service and support.    ;D

I consider overall usability, design, and quality of product or service implementation and in particular, personalization and and how companies addressed a major site development challenge.

ChamberVoice.com, a new site that we are developing to assist and educate chambers about web solutions and technologies will be making sure we highly recommend Shape5.com to our chambervoice members when the new site is launched in September.

We are using the professional looking Shape 5 Sportopolis template with iJoomla News Portal, Simbunch SimAnswers, and JomSocial social network solution, and various other extensions and add-ons.

You and Shape  5 have our vote for one of the:
