: Fatal Errors in IE and Menu links not working...

http://www.buggychat.com/

If you view the site in IE 7, start clicking menus and when you try to click on Home you start getting fatal errors and then you start getting them on the other menus or links.

The link for Community is a menu link to JomSocial Home, not the index home. Yet in this template, it keeps defaulting back to the root home.

This sites works 100% perfect in other templates, it just seems to happen in this template. What fixes do I need to apply to fix these issues?

p.s. Another fantastic template from Shape 5 but this is the first time I've run into issues like this with one of your templates so I'm not quite sure what the issue is.

Also when I enable the   Shape 5 CSS and JS Compressor, the drop down_down_1,2,3 do not work. The page loads with them not showing and you can not click on the link to get them to drop down.

Having this turned on jacked up my JomCommunity profile pages and made some of the applications not work. So I had to turn it off... so another bug with the Shape 5 CSS and JS Compressor.

Not trying to be picking or complain - just pointing out the problems I'm having to help troubleshoot the issues.

Ok this could be a "captain obvious" moment...

I had legacy mode turned ON because I had a classifieds component installed that had to run in legacy mode.......

Since uninstalling that component and turning legacy mode OFF - I'm not getting any fatal errors in IE. I also added the Shape 5 IE6 plugin, turned the Shape 5 css js compression OFF.

However, the Jom Community menu link to the community home page still defaults to the root site address. I'm going to make that menu item a URL to the community home page and test that out again.

So I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess the fact I had legacy mode turned ON was causing my fatal errors in IE.

When you are on the home page and click refresh in IE7 - fatal error. Then you hit refresh and the page loads...... not sure why you get a fatal error when you just hit refresh like that randomly.

I am having the same issue using Sportopolis template.  The menu links do not work with com content frontpage component.  Try linking  the jomsocial via an external link using /index.php?option=com_community and see if that resolves your problem.  What I understand it is problem with how the templates handle the frontpage views and since jomsocial utilizes the frontpage in url it is conflicting with other frontpage compents.
