: Controlling padding... (SOLVED)
: wkamag September 22, 2009, 08:57:43 AM
I have been trying to adjust padding to a table in use on our homepage.  I have the JCE editor installed and when setting say a 4px padding to a table, it was showing in the editor but not on the page.  The admin for the JCE editor has told me that the global settings have all padding set to 0.  Would I be able to make a change (not sure where) so I can set padding to cells as I need, without blowing up the whole template?

I hope this is making sense, if not, I will provide more info as necessary.

Hello, I still have the url to your site, what specific area are you trying to adjust and which page?

Hey Mike.  I have found a work around.

But the area I am speaking of is at the bottom.  You will see Div & Reg Series schedules.  I wanted to adjust the padding to the table there so the URL for the series in the middle column was not right on the bottom edge of the table.  And as I stated before, in the editor it showed up, but not on the page.

The admin for JCE suggested I add padding to the table with:

<table>
<tr>
<td style="padding:4px;">content</td>

I did so and it works.  I can now also see how to add the padding via the editors advanced controls in WYSIWYG rather than editing the source code.

I have no idea what all is involved in building the templates.  But it would be awesome if designers such as myself possibly had a little more control over things.  Not complaining at all.  I am 200% pleased with the template and have been able to make something happen that are not built in.  It is my knowledge of Joomla that I am not pleased with and that will come with more time dabbling in it.  Prior to Joomla, I used GoLive and know it like the back of my hand in the design mode.

Again, I have found a work around, but if you have any ideas, I am certainly open to them.

Thanks again for all your help thus far.
