I downloaded the Basics SiteShaper and tried to install it, getting to step 4 where it wants the database information and clicking next just gives me "An error has occurred.:", no further info. I have double-triple checked the database information, even creating a new database and user with full privileges assigned to it, and still get the same 'Error'. Can you help please?

To try and move forward, I downloaded the Basics template only and tried to open it but WinZip says it's not a valid ZIP file. The ZIP files for your other templates open fine, just not the Basics one. Is this just me or is the template ZIP file actually corrupt?

The template zip file did NOT work for me either.

I had to do a fresh install with the Site Sharper package and it worked, even the demo content worked.

Not sure what is wrong with the template zip file though

Hello, we have tested the template zip file several times and it will open with no issues with winzip. Please first try re-downloading the template in case there is an issue with your specific download.

You don't unzip the template file with a program - you browse to it when installing a template, Joomla unzips the package during the install process of an existing website.....

If you need, I can try to install this template on one of our sites so I can tell you the error message.
